Ritalin Is Not the Answer
A Drug-Free, Practical Program for Children
Diagnosed With ADD or ADHDRitalin Is Not the Answer by David B. Stein, PhD provides a drug-free, practical programme for children diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.
The Caregivers' Skills Program is designed to make ADD and ADHD children behave correctly, function independently, pay attention, and actually think and problem solve without medication. You may go directly to the program at the link below:
Nearly one-tenth of all school-aged children in the United States are being coerced into taking mood-altering drugs with side effects that include insomnia, tearfulness, rebound irritability, personality change, nervousness, anorexia, nausea, dizziness, headaches, heart palpitations, and cardiac arrhythmia.
These are the children diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADD) or attention deficit with hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Ritalin Is Not the Answer confronts and challenges what has become common practice and teaches parents and educators a healthy, comprehensive behavioural program that really works as an alternative to the epidemic use of medication—without teaching children to use drugs in order to handle their behavioural and emotional problems.
The author, David B. Stein, PhD, is a practicing clinical psychologist, associate professor of psychology at Longwood College, and father of two sons who were once placed on Ritalin. His research and writings centre on the diagnosis and treatment of attentional, behavioural, and motivational problems in children. For over twenty-five years he has conducted workshops providing realistic, practical, and effective alternatives to Ritalin.
If you want to support efforts to stop the psychiatric drugging of children, and to receive a newsletter, THE ROAD invites you to join the International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology, 4628 Chestnut Street, Bethesda, MD, 20814.
Warning: Taking psychiatric drugs can be dangerous, but they can also become dangerous when discontinued abruptly. Stopping psychiatric drugs should usually only be done gradually and with medical guidance.
